Essex & Suffolk Year 10 Enrichment Day - Summer 19
A day of mathematical activities and talks with the opportunity for students to meet enthusiasts of their own age from other schools.
The emphasis of the day will be that mathematics can be both engaging and challenging.
Who will benefit from attending?
We hope that you will be able to bring a group of up to 16 students who would benefit and engage with topics in mathematics beyond the scope of the usual curriculum.
The students will be given interactive and engaing talks covering topics which are not usually covered within the standard curriculum. Talks will be given by experienced mathematics outreach presenters. A group activity will also be held encouraging collaborative learning and a chance for the students to engage in some puzzle solving.
Materials and Equipment
Students will need to have a pencil, ruler and some scrap paper .
Students should bring their own packed lunch and drinks. Lunch provided for teachers and presenters.
Please note the Southend campus is in the town centre, therefore parking is restricted and must be in public car parks. Information regarding travelling to the campus can be found here https://www.essex.ac.uk/information/travel-and-transport/parking-at-southend-campus
