Maths in Action - Year 10 Enrichment Workshops

Chatham

Overview

An enrichment day for year 10 students who are likely to study either A level maths, A level Further maths or Core Maths as a level 3 qualification.

The event is not necessarily aimed at outstanding students who are certain to study maths at level 3, but at those who are capable of doing so but are still unsure of their choices.

The day will consist of a mixture of keynote presentations and workshops demonstrating the joy of maths and encouraging the study of maths beyond GCSE.

An adult from each school must accompany their students and be responsible for them throughout the day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for adults but students are expected to bring their own (although water will be available to them all day).

Aims

  • To demonstrate the joy of maths
  • To encourage students to study maths at level 3

Who will benefit from attending?

Year 10 students capable of studying maths at level 3.
