Exeter Teacher Network

The Shifting Landscape - Problem Solving in Level 3 Mathematics

Exeter Teacher Network is an AMSP-funded project, allowing teachers of maths to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly and the programme is mainly speaker-led training events and may include informal sessions.

What does problem solving look like for our post-16 mathematicians, how does it compare between Core Maths and A Level Mathematics and how might this impact on our teaching?

Ahead of the meeting it would be useful if you could consider what has worked well this year and if you know of any good problem solving tasks or questions (including exam questions) please bring them along to share.

This session is free thanks to funding from the AMSP. Light refreshments will be provided.

Materials and Equipment

Please bring along examples of problem solving tasks you have used with your classes or questions that you have found in L3 maths assessments (recent or old).
