Coffee and Pi (Oxfordshire Teacher Network)
Core Mathematics - Managing the Mixed-ability Classroom + Pre-release Material and What to Do with it
Coffee and Pi is a network meeting for teachers in Oxfordshire secondary schools as part of the Oxfordshire Mathematics Community. A post-16 group, funded by AMSP, meets half-termly, allowing teachers of Core Maths and of A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. The programme is planned in response to teacher requests and is a mixture of presentations and discussions. Additionally, an 11-16 group meets half-termly.
Managing the Mixed-Ability Core Maths Classroom + Pre-release Material and What to Do with it
Bring your issues (and any strategies if you have them!) for discussion - a challenge shared is a challenge halved!
Of course the range of abilities, experiences and interests can be a blessing as well, so please be ready to share the high points too.
And we'll also look at the Pre-release Material and discuss ways of using this effectively in the classroom.
