Year 13 Problem solving course - Preparing for STEP summer 2019
A series of maths problem-solving sessions designed to give students the confidence to apply for university courses that require or take into consideration achievement in an admissions test.
These regular classes offer students the opportunity to develop mathematical problem-solving skills through discussion and collaboration. They are designed to help students to develop strategies and confidence when tackling unfamiliar problems in maths and will help with preparations for taking advanced papers such as STEP examinations.
The course will look at past exam materials from STEP 2/3 papers and will identify ways to tackle in-depth maths problems. It will also help students develop their own problem solving skills in mathematics to gain confidence with such questions.
The course will occur on five separate 3-hour blocks, timetabled for Wednesday afternoons 3 - 6pm. The course dates are as follows:
- 3rd April
- 24th April
