Redbridge Teachers Network

Sharing Resources & Casio Classwiz

The Redbridge Teacher Network is an AMSP funded project, allowing teachers of maths to meet, collaborate and to share best practice. We meet termly and the programme usually includes sharing best practice and another item.

This teachers network is open to all teachers from any school in any borough and the meeting will be formed of two sections.

Sharing Great Resources

Please bring along the best activity you have used so far this academic year to share (this could be any year 7 - 13 maths resource). Bring around 10 copies and be prepared to talk for just a few minutes to give us a flavour of the activity (Why do you like it? What did your students think of it? Why did it go so well?). Alternativly, make us all work at it ourselves - so much the better!

Please send me an electronic version so that I can share it with everyone. You provide one activity and walk away with many more. What's not to like!

Casio Classwiz

In a previous network meeting, a network meeting which incluided a session on the classwiz was requested; et voila!

We'll take a look at some of the more unusual functions available on the classwiz, including how your students can make best use of it in exams (both GCSE and post 16).  If you have any great resources for the classwiz please bring them with you (and email me a copy to share with everyone)!  However please don't think you need a resource to attend! You will need to bring your own Classwiz to the session.

Please complete the booking form (link on the right)

This helps me to bring enough refreshments (let me know if there are specific requests).

There is also a question on the form about which qualifications/exam board your school teaches.  The results will be displayed so that you have a better idea of which teachers you may wish to talk to from other schools.

Is the school near public transport? Is there parking available?

Yes and Yes!

The school is roughly a 5 minute walk from Gants Hill underground station (central line) and multiple bus routes serve the area.

If you arrive before 4pm, it is possible to park in the school car park on Perth Road.  Please note you will need to walk around the putside of the school to get to reception at the front.

4 - 6pm with refreshments from 3:30.  Please note that the school reception closes at 4:15 (please contact James if you'll be unable to arrive before then).
