Overview

This is a problem solving activity for year 9, 10 and 11  students. Schools can bring up to 20 students who will work in teams.

Students will gain valuable experience in the strategies of problem solving, to use in their exams, and team work-group discussion which will be invaluable for the classroom.

Meanwhile teachers will be given an introduction of how to prepare their years 10 and 11 for the sixth form. Including core, A level and Further, Maths.

You are welcome to arrive from 12, bring your lunch or buy it on campus

If you ask in advance we can organise a university tour at 1600, which will take approx 1 hour

Aims

  • Experience problem solving techniques

Who will benefit from attending?

Students taking GCSE maths  will benefit from problem solving experience as the questions they will encounter are problem based and not scaffolded.

The afternoon is aimed at all levels, students will be asked to work collaboatively in their groups.
