Overview

A one day course to help prepare teachers who will be teaching mechanics in the new A level for the first time

Aims

  • To introduce the major topics in the Mechanics element of AS/ A level Mathematics
  • To strengthen teachers' understanding of the key topics in the new A level specifications
  • To demonstrate teaching ideas and resources including simple practical work and ICT
  • To provide a basis of understanding of Newtons Laws of Motion, forces and kinematics for teachers to build upon

Who will benefit from attending?

This  course  is suitable for teachers who  are new to teaching mechanics or who have taught M1 on the legacy specification but lack confidence with some concepts

  • AS Mathematics - Forces and Vectors
  • A level Maths - Moving into two dimensions
