Overview
A half-day face to face PD event introducing the Casio fx-CG50 graphical calculator for A-level Mathematics.Led by a Casio Ambassador, the training will focus on the efficient use of the Casio fx-CG50 graphical calculator.
Aims
Teachers will have a chance to explore the functionality of the calculator.
Teachers will have a chance to think about and discuss how the calculator might be used in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
Who will benefit from attending?
Teachers of A-level Maths who would like to find out more about this graphing technology in the classroom.
No prior knowledge or experience is needed.
Content
The two and a half-hour session will cover the following topics:Solving trig equations and graphing trig graphs.
Data handling and probability distributions.
Sequences including Newton-Raphson.
Materials and equipment
Handsets will be available to use on the day.
Teachers who do not own or have access to a Casio fx-CG50 will have the opportunity to borrow one for the event to find out what they can do and how they might use them.
